Induction 2018

The 2018 Annual Induction and Awards Ceremony took place on Monday, April 2, 2018 in the Rosenthal Pavilion on the 10th floor of the Kimmel Center at NYU. It was a great evening to celebrate the new inductees into Upsilon Chapter, honor the 2018 scholarship and grant recipients, and recognize our first ever Friend of Nursing award winner.

After a welcome by Dean Eileen Sullivan-Marx, Upsilon Chapter was also honored to have Dr. Lisa Coleman as the keynote speaker. Dr. Coleman, who is the Senior Vice President for Global Inclusion, Diversity, and Strategic Innovation at NYU, spoke on “Achieving Excellence: The Case for Diversity, Inclusion, Belonging, and Equity.“

After dinner and the presentation of the scholarship, grant, and award winners, new inductees were presented with their Sigma ribbon, given the traditional white rose, and then signed their name in the induction book, which dates back to the first induction ceremony in 1961.

It was an outstanding evening to celebrate NYU Meyers, Sigma, Upsilon Chapter, and nursing. Finally, raffle winners were announced, with the traditional Upsilon Raffle raising $300
for Upsilon's service partner, New York Common Pantry, which will provide 243 pantry meals to families in need.
